The system log files on your dispenser contain information regarding many parts of the software for the current operating time. The files are created at each startup, so rebooting your dispenser creates new files. Sometimes the log files can provide insight into an event. Exporting the log files soon after the event can provide valuable information.

Exporting System Log Files

Exporting the system log files from FLOware requires:

To export the system log files from FLOware, follow these steps:

  1. Access a command prompt.
  2. Depending on the capabilities of your dispenser, do one of the following:
    • If your dispenser supports USB:
      1. Insert a compatible USB drive into one of the USB ports.
      2. At the command prompt, enter the following commands:

        $ pax -w /appl/etc/logs/* | gzip > /dos/c/logs.pax.gz
        $ usb-umount.sh

        The | is a vertical bar entered on your dispenser by holding shift and typing the \ character.

        These commands are successful if no errors are reported and you are prompted to remove the USB drive.

      3. Remove the USB device.
    • If your dispenser does not support USB:
      1. Insert a DOS formatted disk into the floppy disk drive.
      2. At the command prompt, enter the following commands:

        $ logDump >/dos/a/logFiles.log

        This command is successful if no errors are reported.

      3. When the command is complete, eject the disk from the floppy disk drive.

    • Use your desktop computer to send the file created by either method (logs.pax.gz on the USB drive or logFiles.log on the floppy disk) from the media used above.
